Full Version: Film shooters - need some help

For all the digital shooters - you can stop reading right here.

But if you still push a roll of chrome through your camera I need some help. I picked up a fantastic F5 for my birthday, and shot a few rolls. I sent them in for processing at my local camera store - and while the prints are acceptable, I'm looking for some WOW.

I'm gonna shoot everything from TriX to color slide, and need a lab that can handle all that as well as has decent in house cross-processing.

So Post your links if you've got 'em. If you don't want to share with the whole world, just PM me, and I'll keep your secrets safe.

Best -

If you want custom made hand prints, clean processing, fast turn around times and can afford it, Praus Productions in Rochester is amazing. I mail them whatever film I shoot and the film/prints/scans are always awesome smile.gif

bookmarked for later. I had 2 great places in santa barbara, but here in seattle theres really only 1, and its ridiculously over priced. I can live with $9+ for devolpment of chromes, but $1 per mb for a scan???

I've probably got 70-100 rolls of velvia, astia and provia in my fridge waiting till I find a good home for them.

We don't shoot film, but I know Millers Lab still processes a lot of film. Not sure about the details and what all they do, but you might want to check with them.

Eric,

I have recently had some b & w processed by The Icon in LA...great job...

http://iconla.com they have something called the Icon Box so what they'll do is scan it and then place the scans online to be viewed...you can also download the files right from the Icon Box so in two days you can actually get some scans viewed...

It's not inexpensive though, but it's quite a nice service.

There's also Photo Impact in LA as well.... http://photoimpactonline.com

They'll process and scan 3000 x 2000 image scans for about $10 per roll, but check with them for the exact price.

Richard Photo Lab in LA does a lot of process, printing and scanning for LA area wedding shooters... http://richardphotolab.com

Hope that helps!

Paul
