Hello all!
Wanted to see who's left-handed on OSP, and any unusual habits you have being left-handed (eg. look in the viewfinder with your right or left eye)
I'm a lefty in all things, but I use the mouse and play hockey/baseball right-handed. I look in the viewfinder with my left eye (both eyes open). When I write (left-handed), my notepad is always slanted perpendicular to me. Use my fork with left, and knife with right hand.

Lefty here. And your descriptions pretty much fit me too! ;-)

i'm like you - i use both my left and right, but not equally well.
write with my right
eat with my left
when i fold my hands, my left thumb is on top (which, i'm told, is a lefty trait)
view finder... either eye, both eyes open.
(i think i'm a freak!

I'm a lefty.
I bat lefty (not that I've played baseball in the past 10 years)
I kick stuff with my left foot
I mouse with the right (but Wacom stylus goes in the left)
I play guitar like a righty (waaay cheaper)
My fork stays in the left hand (that might be my British upbringing though)

Lefty all the way however being "hands of Satan" when I grew up everyone did whatever they could do to make me a righty so I pretty much do everything both hands.
I perfer to write, eat, kick, shoot a gun (i am from Texas you know)

left.
I perfer to throw right and my right eye is dominate.
With that said I can pretty much do anything both hands, when I played collage and pro baseball I threw right and batted left for the most part but I did enjoy to bat right every once in a while.
Like I said I think I am full blown lefty but society would not let me be a lefty due to uneducated thoughts. My daughter and niece wont need to worry about those stupid thoughts since both of them are also full blooded left handed people and I strongly supported them in letting them be who they wanted to be including what hand or foot to use.

This is a topic for me - I am a LEFTY through and through!! I am one of those left handers who constantly has the ink mark on their pinky finger from the way I hold my hand when I write. I do use the mouse with my right though.
My fiancee is a HUGE baseball fan and is hoping that we have a left handed son with a golden arm - quite a dream considering the fact that the only athletic activity the two of us are good at is running!

I'm right handed, regular footed but shoot with my left eye.
I also pump a skateboard with my right foot (which is backward) but stand regular footed.

Woo Hoo lefty here!
I'm left eye dominant, so that's my camera eye.
Write left.
Throw left.
Kick left.
Sleep on my left side.
...but i'm funky when it comes to golf and baseball.
I golf and bat rightey, but it's always made sense to me because your front (leading arm) is your power arm, and when you do it rightey, thats your left!
How does it feel living in a right-handed persons world knowing that we have a shorter life expectancy because everything is backwards from how we like it? Don't you hate when you smear your writing because some genious decided we were supposed to write from left to right instead of right to left. Imagine how different our world would be if everything was swapped.

lefty here.
Doors tend to give the biggest problem.
Golf Right ( and left near the trees)
Tennis left
Hockey Right
all of my art teachers were lefties.

Righty Here!!!
Left eye dominant, so viewfinder with left eye. Right eye sometimes open, sometimes closed.
Write with my right, but I hold the pen/pencil like a lefty so I get ink smears all over my pinky too!
Racquet sports sometimes with the left, and taekwondo board breaking with the left, unless I need uber power (i.e. 3+ concrete bricks).
It appears that the line between lefty and righty is becoming blurred, with many people using both hands for different purposes.

I have a theory about that.... It seems to me that a lot of people who excel at photography have stronger than average links between the two hemispheres of their brain, since it takes both sides working in harmony to create photographs (both creative and technical skills required).
The blending of technical skills (my stronger side) and creative skills are, in essence, what drew me into photography as a career.

hey neato everyone.
matt, me too i also play guitar & violin right-handed.
mike, i was in the the same situation as you - my dad (who's a lefty btw) tried to force me to be a righty when i was young. i guess i was pretty stubborn and wasn't going to try to fit in with tradition! same with photography!
mark & brandy, i so agree with you guys on the smearing of ink/lead on paper. if we were to write chinese (downwards, starting from the right hand side) things would be so much easier. and forget scissors, wow i was the worst in cutting paper in elementary art class.
this is like the simpson's episode when moe opened up that lefty store, haha

Wasn't it Flanders that opened that lefty store? Funny stuff.
This is interesting stuff. I can't do anything with my left had. Althought I can't ride a bike without hands, but when I take one off, it's always my right, my left just feels more stable. Weird.

Hi there...just made an intro in the 'about me' area but had to join in this one...
I'm a lefty but I guess I'm a weird lefty...I write with my left had, paint & sketch with my left hand and brush my teeth with my left, but a lot of other things-mouse, scissors are with my right hand.
I do look in the viewfinder with my left eye though.
In a life drawing session once I tested made myself do the whole drawing with my right hand instead and it actually came out okay..So go figure!

Right handed. Left eye dominant. Look through viewfinder with my left eye (and get nose smear all over the LCD cover). Skateboard goofy-foot, kick with left foot. Drive a trackball with left. Mouse usually right but left equally well. Wacom pen in right. Write right. (I just wanted to write that) Clutch with left foot (oh, wait, that's normal).

Lefty.
Left eye shooter, both eyes open.
Do most things left-handed/footed, can do many things right handed as well.
I've always wondered if left-handed people, being right brain dominant, have a greater tendency than right-handed people to be involved in creative endeavors?

Left hand
Left Mouse (but I don't switch the mouse buttons)
Watch on left wrist.
Usually kick with right foot.

And no... I do not write upside down!

I'm pretty much ambidexterous (sp?) I write lefty cause thats the lesser of my evil chicken scratch, but I can pretty much write illedgeable with either. I don't write like a lefty though... I keep my paper straight and usually smudge it all with the bottom of my hand, but I can't write well if I tilt the paper like normal leftys.
I can play tennis, and hockey with either but can only bat righty. I too was raised by british parents so I've no idea why I use a fork in the left, I think untill I got married all food was finger food, and microwavable.
Shooting is funny for me.. I catch myself using a different eye all the time, so I can't really say which I prefer. I can shoot a gun and bowl with both but I seem to favor the right. It's gonna be fun having a kid and seeing who they take after.
