Full Version: The guy who killed the XFL and his hot fiance!
OpenSourcePhoto > Show Your Stuff! > Engagement Pics

Just got back home from Austin. What a beautiful, diverse city! Can't wait to go back for the wedding in May.

The groom was an offensive lineman for Texas (he played when Ricky Williams was there). He played for the Falcons and Raiders after that before playing in the XFL. For more on how he contributed to the demise of that joke of a league- check out this story. (He's they guy that broke his leg in two places)

Now, he is back in Austin working on his Masters- he and his fiance are both class acts.

Fantastic work! I love the shot through the fountains, that is really fun. I like the use of the wide angle lens for the ring shots. I am not normally a fan of wide angles on people but I think that those really work.
mark eric
Thanks eveyone- Jill- you're too funny.

Colin- I agree on the wide angle comment. I did some macro shots of the rings too- but I really liked that last one. He was so big compared to her, I played with perspective more than usual- especially with the fisheye.

ha ha! Funny. We were scouting for her dress trashing. She wants to get in that fountain on the UT campus, but he won't let her. He told her that she would get arrested, and his job is to protect her....but she still wants to do it anyways....

Mark, great job, but I would have liked to have seen some more non-kissing ones. I would encourage you to have them interact more instead. Also, you don't see his face hardly in any of them. I'm guilty of this myself, so that's why I'm critical. Good angles and composition, though.

Mark,

Very smart shooting with a big man. I'll have to have you shoot me and the wife...

Thanks- you're seeing my favorites. I shot about 500 more with plenty of interaction, and plenty of his face. I agree that engagement sessions should be about more than just kissing.
These just stood out to me. I appreciate the feedback- keep it coming.

Thanks dude. You would have to do the same for me- using the same angels.

Mark...awesome job man. did you do most of those on campus? Our office is directly across the street from campus. You were right across from my office and you didn't even say hi...i'm hurt. just kidding.

love your composition and use of the spaces you were given (since i think i know where you were mostly shooting) great job man.

Thanks Eric- I don't think you were working on New Years Eve- were you. I'll be back in May- I would definately love to get together.

Yeah- we shot on the campus first. She ripped her skirt climbing on the rocks about 15 minutes into the shoot...so we had to pause while she went home to change. We lost about 45 minutes- then wrapped up on campus around sunset. It was great because there were only about 10 other people on campus- so no crowd! Later that evening we strolled into the warehouse district for a few night shots. Then I went to a party with them at one of their friends house. Had a great time. Beautiful city!
