I'm working on my workflow and have been reading a lot of post on this forum. It has been a big help already. I have learned how to do the auto tone on import. When I go to the develop tab after import my before view is after the auto tone adjustment. I would like the before view to be the out of camera files instead. Is there a way to do this?

I don't think that there is a way, but I also think that this is a nice feature.
What differences are you looking to see? To see what effect the automatic adjustment had? If thats all you are looking for, you can create a new preset that resets all of the basic adjustments to their default values. Then instead of using before and after to see this, just toggle between selecting the reset and the auto adjustment presets. That will isolate the changes to only the basic adjustments, and you can tweak the auto from there.
Having the before view reflect the preset that was imported is actually a good thing. It lets you see only the changes that you have made. So if you start tweaking tone curves and color balance, the before/after view will make more sense, where having it reset all the values to what adobe considers default will probably not be what you want in the long run. You just have to trust that auto adjustment to be the starting point, then you can tweak the basic sliders from there. You can always reset to your original exposure by using a second preset.

Yes, its seems that you apply a preset upon import, going back to the "default" will include the import settings as well.
Making a preset that will revert all the settings back to default would be a good solution.
