Its driving me NUTS!

I want a decent slideshow that wont cost me a fortune in new software, that doesnt take a IQ of 400 to work and is a decient SIZE!

I know everyone uses showit web, but you have to host that on your own website...which i dont know how to do....and proshow makes the video file 1) too big and 2) images are tiny and crap quality....and i cant find anything else sad.gif

any other suggestions??? Im tearing my hair out.....

Hi Clare,
If you have your own hosting account, then it's super easy to upload the Showit Web show via FTP. I've tried so many slideshow programs, but SIW remains the best option for photographers IMO.

Yup you have to get it, there is nothing else like it for the web. It will pay for itself in exposure and marketing with one wedding. Imagine the majority of the wedding guests seeing the show on line from anywhere with the images set to music, a link to your site etc. The best value in promotion in this web based world.

Learning about FTP you also need to do for your blog, website etc. It is not that hard and most FTP programs are free.

Hey Claredy! thumbsup.gif
SIW is definitely the way to go. What do you use for hosting? Is it rented server space... a MobileMe account... whichever it is, you just need to put the show's folder in the correct location and tell SIW where it is (the final address). Then SIW can generate the code to embed it into your blog, site, etc. PLUS, there is a SIW player app in Facebook. TONS of exposure there. thumbsup.gif

i guess i need to learn how to host on the web, i wouldnt have the foggiest where to start. I can afford to pay someone to do it for me, so where is the best place to learn this stuff?? Is there a "Web Hosting and FTP stuff For Dummies" out there?
