WOW! What an amazing board. I've heard about it through DJ's website/blog for quite a while and I finallllly decided to check it out. I'm a regular poster/lurker over at photography-on-the-net.com forums, but I have to admit, these boards may just be better! smile.gif

The work displayed here is absolutely breathtaking and I know this forum is going to lead to many more hours in front of the computer screen. I'm a Junior in High School and I can credit my father with getting me excited about photography.

My dad bought me a Rebel two years ago but it's only been in about the last 3 months that I have figured out what I'm doing, as far as camera settings go/lighting/flash techniques. Unfortunately I'm still stuck with the Rebel until I can save up enough money to trade it in the for 30D, but I've been accumlating lenses that fit my budget!

My family went on a vacation on the East Coast of Canada and down into Boston this summer and I took well over 1000 shots. Drove my parents crazy but had a blast. Except now I look at those shots and drive myself crazy with everything I should have been doing (I think I kept it on P mode the whole time... wacko.gif )

I'm psyched about getting to know more about photography (aren't we all?) and the possibility of doing this as a career. I'd love to get to know more of you, and I already see a bunch of familar faces around. (I'm an avid blog-reader!)

Talk to you soon!

Jamie,

Welcome! Don't fret about using film. After all it is a digital too... just no screen for chimping! Just duck tape your favorite MP3 player to the back and it will feel like the digi. Just have photo CD's made from your negs every time you have a roll processed. I use to know what the stuff looked like too. Love to see some shots from your Boston trip!
