Full Version: LR won't recognize my RAW files now

I shoot RAW with a D300
Last week, I got a new D700, and shot RAW+Jpeg Normal (because I was attempting to do the slideshow at the reception)....
Ever since that weekend, LR won't accept/read/recognize my RAW files when I shoot only RAW, OR RAW+jpeg.

SO, is it the fact that it's a new camera, and/or I need to upgrade to LR 2.0 or do I need to do something else. I don't believe I've changed any settings in LR- but I'm wondering if I accidentally did for it not to recognize them.
Any thoughts?

EDITED TO ADD:
CS3 won't recognize them either. Tried to double-click on a raw file in bridge and it says "could not complete your request because photoshop does not recognize that type of file"

BTW I JUST shot the latest ones tonight (raw only, not raw+jpeg).... HELP:)smile.gif

I am guessing you need somehting for lightroom to recognize your files. In photoshop you have to get a plug in if your camera is newer than the version of photoshop. It is probably something similar in LR.

You'll probably need to go download the latest Camera Raw driver from Adobe and replace your current one with it.

Here's the Windows version: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3943

Here's the Mac version: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3942

If that doesn't work (sometimes it takes them a little while to develop the new drivers for new cameras since Nikon and Canon refuse to give them a head start) then you'll have to edit your files with the software included with your camera (Nikon Capture I think?) until they develop the driver for the D700.

turns out it's true what everyone thought.
i'm a dork.

LR 2.0 is working.

Thanks Kari + Melody for chiming in!

FYI Adobe Lightroom is completely independent of the camera raw plugin... updating ACR will not affect lightroom... you must apply the specific lightroom updates to stay up-to-date.
