This is about the only lens left on my really want list. I need it pretty cheapish, because well I am broke, and don't need it RIGHT this second but I wanted to see if one was floating around someone didn't want smile.gif So make me an offer I can't refuse smile.gif hahaha

You won't find them cheap. They're in extremely high demand, and anyone selling them will be selling them for what they're worth, which is a lot. L lenses (especially the 70-200 IS) hold their value much better than many lenses, so it would probably benefit you to just save up and buy a new one for warranty purposes as well. It will be worth it, I promise wink.gif

Heather,

I just bought one last week and I am in love with it! I know a lot of people don't agree with putting things on credit, but amazon was offering a credit card with 24 months no payment if you purchased before a certain time. I knew with the many 2nd shooting gigs I had coming up, I'd be able to pay it off in the next few months, and I'd actually be getting to use this lens for the shoots! I'd check out amazon to see if they are continuing the deal!

I know it won't be super cheap but I just mean cheaper than 1600 haha, I have one I can borrow until I get one, I am just trying to look around. And Beth I wish I had a credit card but unfortunately I don't sad.gif

I sold mine after buying a 135/2.0 Cheaper. You should check it out...rent it or something. You might be happier...sharper, faster and MUCH lighter and less prominent for you PJs out there.

Good to hear! I have been seriously considering this lens in lieu of the 70-200. I LOVE that it is lighter, and the fact that it is considerably less expensive doesn't hurt! I just know that if I did buy the 70-200, I would dread pulling it out of my bag because of it's weight, and as a result, it would get very little use. I want to spend money on a lens that I love using!!!

I have both. The 135 is not a replacement for the 70-200. The 135 is a sweet lens, but the 70-200 covers SO much more with the ability to zoom. For PJ stuff, the 70-200 is the best. Nothing like it. Also, the 2.8IS version is better in low light in most cases than the 135 since the IS usually gets me about 2 stops of light, sometimes 3. On a rare occasion, the 2.8 is still not wide enough to stop the actual motion of the people, I just bust out the 50 1.4.

Long story short. 70-200 2.8IS is just magic. It changes the way you shoot.

To the OP: Plan on dropping $1500. Have you checked out fredmiranda yet? They have a lot more stuff for sale than on OSP most of the time.
