I have a wedding in a few weeks at an aquarium. I'm really excited, but super nervous about lighting conditions.

Any tips you can share for shooting in those types of conditions?

thanks so much!

Wow Matt my local aquarium will not let you use flash. Erin maybe you should contact the aquarium to find out if flash is ok. So its wide open and tripod time if they don't

yeah good point forgot to mention the no flash in some aquariums. Ive only been to one where no flash was allowed. Funny thing was the other aquariums were almost identical same fish same tanks etc... and you could use a flash.

There is a way around this it can be done... use the lights in the ceiling and get creative with them.. use the lights in the aquariums themselves.. purples blues all kinds of different lights..

also don't be afraid to use a video light. have your asst hold it or if not put it on a seperate light stick... Don't keep it on the whole time just pop it on fire 10 shots or so then turn it off. It can be distracting is why...

Learn to custom WB if you use a video light. I can't seem to manually make the colors if I do not custom white balance.

Good luck...

I have a no flash wedding coming up at an aquarium (the shedd in chicago) My hope is to have my 5 mkII before the wedding (mid nov). Barring that I'm getting a LED flashlight which my assistant will carry and bounce into a small reflector to help light people. I contacted the Shedd and they said a video light is ok but I can't aim it at a tank. At least i won't need to worry about uncle bobs at this one. I bet print sales will be great. I also plan on converting everything to B/W since it'll be super high ISO.

I dont get these aquariums you can use a video light but not a flash. go figure...

also shoot wide 16mm a lot... especially during the first dance so you wont have to shoot at such a high ISO...

Since you'll be shooting at an aquarium, it would make sense to use a fisheye lens! laughing.gif
