Google "laptop rental" and you'll get a ton of hits. I'm sure you're looking for an OSP testimonial, but just thought I'd state the obvious.

i am shooting an out of state wedding and don't have a laptop at this time.... i wanted to have some way to back up my cards the night of the wedding... are there any other options for doing this other than a laptop?

Sounds like a laptop would be the most reliable solution - do you know anyone who would lend you one?
Otherwise there are things like those epson handheld hard drives with card readers that people use, but I don't know much info on them or if they're rentable anywyere... I doubt it.

If looking for cheap field backup, take a look this:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/3676...1.html#featuresI would only use this as a backup, and would not use it for copying then reusing a card.
They have other models also, all with at different price points.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...0&Go=submitI'd go with the epson if you are willing to spend the money, but for something simple and cheap for less than 200, the Wolverine may be a good choice
Edit:
this one looks like an updated version to the first link i sent you

I rented a laptop some 15 years ago from a Denver store that specialized in laptops....I guess I was just trying them out before I bought. i think the store was called "Laptop Express"
I'm guessing there are still plenty of places that will do it for the right money....it's just not a popular thing now....but sounds worthwhile in your case....

As much as I hate these rip-off rent-a-center type places, you can get them to rent you a laptop for a week. It won't be a mac, but it will be something. As it was stated, borrowing one for a friend is a good idea too!

I was in the exact same situation last year. I used Rent-A-Center and it was about $40 for a single week. Worth it for my piece of mind, by far. Not one I would want to buy, though. Slower than you-know-what. LOL But, it worked great for what I needed it for.
Good luck!

Yep. My husband is the sales manager for a computer and a/v rental shop. Call
Source 1 Rentals and ask for Keith. He'll hook you up.
