I am posting this to ask for your thoughts and prayers for a dear friend of mine. His 17 year old daughter died yesterday from a drug overdose. She and some friends unfortunately mixed a lethal cocktail of prescription pain killers in an attempt to get high.

I beg of you, if you are a parent to please talk to your children about the dangers of using prescription drugs to get high. It is so common for kids to think that it is ok to play around with these drugs since they are in the medicine cabinet and legal.

Please, please, if you have any prescription pills, keep them under lock and key.

My friend's daughter was an incredibly bright, creative, and talented young lady. She was successful in school with an amazingly supportive and loving family. If you think it can't happen to your child because you have a "good kid", stop fooling yourself. Please talk to them.
