My dear, dear friend, inspiration, and mentor, Carol Andrews' home studio was burned in the hurricane last night. And she is not alone. She is reporting that most of her photography friends in her area have lost some, or all of their homes and studio facilities. This is going to affect all businesses in that area, of course, but small businesses (such as independent photographers) will be hit the hardest.

Pray for our peers.

I am up watching the news and checking out OSP hoping to find out how people fared last night. I am so sad to hear this Carrie. I heard that people are trapped in their attics??
ALso watching the unbelievable story of two trains that hit head on in LA yesterday as well with 12 dead so far.
I am with you, praying for them all...and I agree with Tami I hope someone is rescuing the animals as well.

OSPer Jason Connel lives somewhere just south of Houston - he was on vacation with his family when Ike made his appearance. Thankfully they are safe, but he's most likely lost his office and his home along with everything they owned since they were unable to prepare in any way.

Lots of thoughts and prayers with all who are affected by Ike...

I've been keeping up with the news on Ike and hoping that those in the areas effected stay safe. I read on Twitter that Suzy & the Tricoast guys are all ok so that's good news.

We are getting lots of wind gusts in Central Louisiana.
