Full Version: I just got dumped

So, I had contacted my blog designer last week to see if she'd be willing (of course paying her too) to work on redoing my logo and whatnot. It was agreed and set and we were going to start working on it for October since she goes by first come first serve basis. She advised that I should email her any ideas/thoughts/suggestions that I had and I did.

Today I get an email stating that she will not be able to work on redoing my logo or any other projects from me as she has been overwhelmed with other clients as well as my ideas/thoughts/suggestions.

I forgot to add that her prices were exceptionally reasonable.

I guess in the end it didn't matter

Hi Jay,
Unfortunately we never got around to really discussing what the new set of work would even be. And I didn't abuse her procedure. After working on my current blog and wanting to overhaul that and start fresh, I went to her site, filled out the free quote form and left it at that. When she saw it, we discussed my vision, my future style/look and we agreed that
a: we would start the work in October
b: that i could email her my thoughts/ideas.

Simple as that.

Everyone else: Thank you sooooooo much for helping and making your recommendations. I will definitely be taking these into consideration smile.gif

That is a bummer! I have a friend who does logo design as well as other kinds of design work for marketing. Her fee would be very reasonable and she does great work. Her name is Cheryl and you can email her at rendered.visage@gmail.com. She works out of LA and should have a website up soon. But until she does, her prices will probably be at a discounted rate than what her work is worth!!

I cannot recommend Ashley Jankowski (For the Love of Creating) enough! Although I am also a designer, I have not decided to delve into doing web work yet. So, when I recently re-branded MYSELF I hired her to do my site and blog. She also happens to be a good friend of mine and I know FOR SURE that if she takes you on she would NEVER dump you wink.gif

Also, not to sound harsh but you usually do get what you pay for and make sure you are hiring a true professional who also fits your style. There are way too many designing out there who aren't properly trained or experienced (I am not saying that was the case with your designer!!!)

Good luck to you wink.gif
