Would love to see how you have them.

Thanks!!!

I just use the invoice that my accounting software provides. Nothing fancy, but looks professional.

I use ShootQ to handle all of my invoicing. All invoices are paid or at least downloaded online in a beautifully easy-to-use interface. My clients get automatic notifications of their scheduled invoices (if they're making payments on coverage, etc.) and ShootQ also handles everything else, from first contact to workflows etc. Looking forward to V2 which is coming soon as a free upgrade. I highly recommend that you look into ShootQ if you're going to be photographing weddings.

Enjoy!

ETA: I just hopped over to ShootQ and logged in to check for any new developments on V2. Not only is the Alpha testing team beginning their part of Testing the new version very soon, but the ShootQ team just announced that they will be releasing an iPhone web app as well!!! We asked, they listened. What more could you ask?

I wish I had ShootQ. That's sick.

Right now we include a little invoice area on their contracts with the totals and dates by which they are due.

Well, v2 will be a very new interface for all users. No need for new subscribers to learn v1 then get frustrated trying to learn v2 when it comes out shortly thereafter. Don't worry though, it'll be available soon! You'll LOVE using shootQ!

I love using Freshbooks for my billing. It is set up to make things super easy for billing and receipts. My clients get two invoices - Deposit + Balance and Freshbooks allows me to set up branded notices that can either go by mail or email (or both, I suppose). They look after mailing the physical invoice so that's one less thing form me to do.

The other thing that I think is beauty is that they have a built in Time Tracker so if I'm working on a per/hour job I can send them a detailed list of the time involved (often good info to just have for myself for when I need to review my a la carte pricing).

ok, that makes sense. If they're reading this, they should put that on their website... Instead of feeling like I'm not cool enough, now I know that they are looking out for me!

Well, they were extremely exclusive for quite a while. They don't want to take on too many clients, and they do so at varying intervals. I signed up earlier this year during a period where they were only accepting 250 or so users. They're a pretty small company compared to "the big guys" and they give everyone the personal attention that they deserve. They simply don't want to grow too much. Don't take it personally... be thankful that they actually care about their clients (unlike so many vendors/services in this industry)
