A friend of mine was telling me about a widget that she downloaded for free for her Mac. It was a time keeper. She would "punch in" when she started working on a project, and could write what she was working on. Then it would add up her time on the computer.
I LOVE this idea, as I think I work too much. But, I do all my editing on a PC desktop. I will be switching to mac over the winter, but I want to start this now, especially when I am in my busy season.
So, is there a free download like this for a PC? Being that I am switching to Mac in the winter, I don't want to buy any more PC programs.
Thanks!

Might check this one out. It adds the functionality to your iGoogle homepage, so it's cross platform.

Thanks Alan, that is what I am looking for.
I am on Windows XP, and not Vista. Is there a way to use it without always having the internet window open? It looks like my choices are to use it with igoogle, on vista, and on Netvibes, which I have NO idea what that is!

Here's one that I just signed up for recently that is an online program that tracks how long you work on each project.
TogglHope that helps!

You are correct Kari...you'll need to be online to use it. While that may not be ideal, one advantage is you won't have to move to a new application when you move to another computer and/ or platform (PC/Mac). Hope you find something that works well for you!

Have OSP open while you edit. Isn't that multitasking?

Wow, that's very useful, thank you I didn't even think about something like this, I normally noted the time down on the whiteboard and then again once I had finished, it was a pain when I had forgotten.
I've chosen the google one, it looks simple and I usually have the browser window open anyway

Thank you

UGGGG!!!! I was tracking my time for almost two weeks with the one on google. I accidentally hit the x on the top corner, and it is gone!!! I tried to get it back, but I can't. Two weeks down the drain.... I did find that I am working about 60 hours a week though... time to come up with a plan!

Kari,
Are you literally looking for a stopwatch type of thing or more specific? Do you have Excel?

I was intrigued after your first post so I picked up the free version of this...
http://www.easytimetracking.net/index.aspIt is pretty easy and seems to do what I need it to.
