Full Version: How do I use Adobe Image Ready to compress a file ?

My question is how do I use CS2 Adobe Image Ready to compress a file and save it as a jpg. The reason I am asking is because I got edited by DJ because my files were too big."Reason for edit: hilarious...just gotta compress'em a bit. smile.gif - 50k" Sorry DJ I just did not know how to do this. I saw a post in the Help but is was gon in the big CRASH. Any help would be appreciated.

Any reason it has to be done in Adobe Image Ready versus just doing it in Photoshop?

When in PhotoShop, try using FILE > Save For The Web

You can then enter the pixel dimensions, and what JPG compression setting you want to save at. PS will then ask you where to save it as a new file, and leave your old file untouched.

Greg,
I would use Photoshop and the steps Troy outlined above. When using the "save for web" feature of Photoshop. Photoshop will use the Image Ready engine and allows you to choose the amount of compression as well as the pixel dimension of the image. It's best to use Photoshop to edit and manipulate images rather than try to do it from the Image Ready application directly.

No problemo...

Edited by DJ is niiiicer than edited by Matt

DJ brings in the flower children of the west coast... they link hands and dance around your post, and then delete it ... wishing it much cheer and hapiness on its way to electronic nothingness.

Matt has the east coast mafiosos to back him up! your post will end up sleepin wif da fishes!

(How did the two coasts ever grow up so differently?)

But watch out for DJ. I hear he dresses like this ph34r.gif in his spare time!
