I have had 2 calls in the past 2 days from different clients.
Client 1. can open the dvd on her computer and see the files, but she took it to get prints and they could not (ritz camera), They also could not give her an explanation as to why. They tried 5 different stations. According to her, the dvd was the exact same type as the one for her e session, which worked fine. I tested the dvd on my laptop before I mailed it.... Thoughts? there are 500 high res jpegs on there.
Client 2. I burned a copy of 100 files on either a cd or dvd (cant remember) and tested it too before I sent it. She said that her brother could see the files on his pc but could not open them.
I have never had this issue before until this weekend. thoughts anyone???? I cant remember what types of dvds / cds they were. I used up my last ones from both of those packs since I burned those.

Are you using a mac? And if so, are you using the finder burn feature?
I was doing that at first and had issues with readability.
I got Toast and haven't had a problem burning mac and pc compatible DVD's since. Not sure if that helps. Good luck!

The DVD doesn't shock me at all. I always burn to CDs because I have so many problems with clients and DVDs.
There are DVD+R's and DVD-R's - in the past few years most DVDs readers have been able to read both - but as of 3 years ago DVD drives were usually one or the other. Ritz could have just had an old reader that only read one type of DVD which was probably the opposite of yours.

I've been having the same problem lately too. I burn on my desktop and check on my laptop before I give the disc and sometimes they still can't get the files from the dvd. I don't know why it happens, but it drives me nuts!
