Hey DJ,
Is there a way I could try Showit Effects before I would buy it? I would look to see if it suites my needs and the effects it may have on my pictures.

Because of the nature of how the program works they can't make a demo mode yet.

But definitely check out the Tutorial Video for Effects 2.0

And I can tell you that it is well worth the money. It has sped up my workflow a ton and allowed me to quickly edit photos for wedding night slideshows.
