Hi all,

My husband (an Orthodox priest) is currently exploring options for a parish. We know about a number of the areas that are a possibility for us, but one place I know nothing about is Omaha. Anyone from the area? Can you tell me about your city?

i dont really know much about omaha, my wife is from lincoln (an hour away). lincoln in a nice town, i dig it.

My husband and I grew up Lincoln, but Omaha isn't far away (as Phil said). If it were me, I'd live on the west or south side of town, like Millard, Papillion, Ralston or Elkhorn. It's the biggest city in Nebraska and Lincoln (2nd largest) is less than an hour away. After that, there's nothing but small towns We would drive there sometimes to go to their malls, but now I would only go to the mall on the west side of town ... the rest have gone downhill and there seems to be a lot of violence there. But, that's probably just what I've heard in the news

Summers are hot and humid

There are a lot of things to do there ... famous zoo, college world series, and lots of other fun stuff ...
