On July 4th I was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 2nd shooting an awesome destination wedding with Art Lemus at the Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta.
I have to thank
Art and Nataly Lemus for inviting me to tag along! Check out their blog since I'm sure they'll post some killer images.
Finally I got my hands on the images and here's the first part of this post.

Wow, that is one amazing wedding, crazy weather though, but i guess that is normal for the area (really have no idea) But gorgeous! The one with all of the guys taking a shot, so great that there is a kid asleep in the stroller LOL

Last summer when we got to Puerto Vallarta it was raining so hard the water was axle deep in the streets. Then it was sunny and gorgeous until we left, when it rained again on the way top the airport. Crazy weather.
Beautiful images, man. I want to go back there, just not in the summer.

Yeah, it was crazy, you couldn't even stay 5 seconds under the rain and it never stopped. The tent was on the sand and it was pretty sturdy but the wind and rain was just too much but at that point it was all about the fun. We didn't have the opportunity to shoot a lot but it was a great wedding nonetheless.Yeah, it was crazy, you couldn't even stay 5 seconds under the rain and it never stopped. Nice job, Rudy!
I went to Puerto Vallarta for vacation once and it POURED rain the entire week. Our hotel (which was a nice hotel) was seriously roach-infested. Worst vacation ever!

Hi Rudolfo,
Great images, especially considering the lackluster weather...I don't know if you could help but I might be doing doing a wedding in Mexico (Troncones, near Zihuatanejo) next month and wanted to know some travel pointers for general international photo travel. I used to live in Guatemala and travel there quite often, so I'm familiar with Latin American travel, but this will be my first international wedding gig...any thoughts?
Kindly, Matt

Hey Matt, mi wife is from Guatemala!
I'm kind of a minimalist and can fit all my equipment in one bag that I carry on the plane no matter what. To make sure it's ok anywhere I go I just got a
Think Tank Airport International 2.0
rolling bag... not the cheapest but it's awesome and should be allow as a carry-on in every airline.
I don't care if I have to shoot in boxers but the equipment is the most important and also always keep it next to you while shooting. Make sure your insurance will cover equipment loss while you're abroad... after that, Mexico is very cool!

I was looking into getting the Think Tank Airport International. Many have told me that since airlines are downsizing that oft times the photo bag needs to be gate checked. How would you feel with your Think Tank bag being checked? Is it secure enough?
thanks for all the travel pointers!
Kindly, Matt
ps. Guate...amala!

I second the Think Tank bag, I have never had to gate check it, usually on very small planes they try to make me gate check it, but I tell them that if it won't fit, I'll bring it back out, and I just put it underneath the seat in front of me and it fits just fine. The think tank bag has a built in zipper lock system which is really sweet as well as a cable tie in the back to secure to stationary objects while shooting a wedding so no one can just walk off with the bag. It fits more than enough gear for destination weddings and I love rolling it around everywhere.
oh yeah, forgot to say awesome shots Rudy, way to go.
