Full Version: Another ShowIt question

I cannot (for the life of me) figure out what I'm doing wrong. When I select my photos for the slideshow, I put them in the order I want them in and create my slideshow. Everytime, the pictures get mixed up - completely out of order - and show in an order that I do not want. (i.e. I'll have a bride getting makeup on, then it goes to cake cutting, then back to getting dressed, then to reception, then to ceremony, etc. No rhyme or reason, and not what I selected).

I have NO IDEA how I am doing this, but I've done multiple slideshows this week, and they all do that.

What novice mistake am I making?

What I do is to label the images in the order I want them. In my case I use the initials of the Bride & Groom and then a sequential number. Let say they are called Angel and Ruth. It will look like that: AR-0001.jpg and so on. That way when you import they will be in the proper order you want them.

Still, if you move them around, they should stay in the order you placed them. Don't forget to save the changes by going to file>save or "Save & Preview (at the bottom) otherwise, any changes you made won't hold.
the real tami
mine almost always go in date order - sometimes if i have renamed it, i have to move it, but for themost part, its pretty much date/time stamped order.

are you sure you are saving them after you move them around?

Yeah, that is why this is driving me crazy!

I take the pics i want, move to a seperate folder. Renumber in order. export that folder (in that order) to ShowIt. When I create the show, it mixes all the photos and numbers up and puts them out of order.

All of my shows do this, so it has to be something I'm clicking.

Showit will display the images by the numbers in the file name. When you name your files put the number first, and then the name (001 Name, 002 Name, etc.) - SI likes that better. If you have the name first it will sometimes take them out of order.

If you have a specific order you want them to be in then after you order them you have to rename the files. I prefer to bring pics in and then reorder if I need to so I don't have different picture numbers - the client can see the file names (I have that enabled) which helps them when they go to order the pics.

I don't need to have two different sets of file names floating around to confuse myself with...

Let me know if this helps - if not, give me a call!
