So I have wanted to get my photos to really POP. Well, thanks to Jodi, I now feel that I can never give my clients "basic" edits ever again! I am having so much fun working with these actions. My favorite part is that I save the files with a separate name and then I use my photo viewer to go back and forth to see the difference! And what a difference it makes!

I have one of my recent samples, before and after to share. You will be amazed. I am amazed that I did this!

Here is the info, in case you have no idea who Jodi is or what MCP actions are. Her website is MCP Actions, and you can see easy-to-view samples on her facebook fan page at Facebook Page for MCP Actions

Also, I wanted to mention that I have never met or spoken to the designer, Jodi, but I LOVE her work! Check it out, the prices are reasonable for the items included in the packages. Sorry to go on and on, I am just super excited that I have discovered these. In fact, I only bought these last night and received the actions today!

Here is my sample: I used Eye Doctor, Color Explosion, The Dentist, and MCP Magic Skin.

Thanks for reading!! Oh and feel free to CC my photo, I haven't posted often and would love to hear the good the bad and the,..... you know.

I have a lot of Jodi's actions and they do rock! I haven't really been able to play with them too much yet, but I have been really been impressed with what I have been able to use so far!

I may even get some Photoshop training from her at some point soon!

I was actually thinking about purchasing her actions. Thanks for the info. Which action packages did you get?

Jodi is a frequent member on another board I participate in, and she's as sweet as can be! I am more of a portrait photographer, and I love her storyboard templates (the rounded corner ones).

Actions are cool. I haven't tried MCP's.

Is anyone else using actions less though? I'm not knocking MCP in any way. I love actions. And even have two sets over at Seim Effects.

But seriously! Since I started using Lightroom I do a ton with presets. Their so much faster. I do most the color effects and B&W with my Lightroom presets. Then I take the REALLY good shots and go into PS for that magic that just can't be done in LR.

Jodie's actions were the first set that I bought. I love the Eye Doctor the best, followed by Chocolate Wishes for B&W shots. Jodie has one of my photos as the sample in Frosted Memories smile.gif

I do like TRA also, but in moderation, I see so many overdone TRA edits.

I bought the Ultimate Portrait Package.

As for the difference with using Lightroom presets and using this particular set of actions, is that in Lightroom (which I use and have a lot of presets for as well) it adjusts the entire photo. With these actions, like the eye doctor, you are working on a specific part of your photo. She has the layers set up for you and labeled clearly, so it's easy to know exactly what you want to do.

Can't wait for LR 2.0 to come out! Then we can really rock the presets...
