after playing around with my custom settings a bit I noticed that my focus points no longer stay lit while I am pressing the button for them. They flicker on and then off again quickly and I can no longer manually choose focus points. I have since restored all settings back to factory and only changed my AF to BBF but they are still not staying lit. Any ideas what i did or do I just need to break down and call Canon?

hmmm strange---i wonder why mine did stay lit then....and even on my 20D as well....... very strange..... i think i will end up calling canon on this one.... especially since as I said before I can no longer toggle my focus points at all....

They stay lit if you are on one-shot. If you are on AI Servo, they will flicker or not light up at all.

Isn't there a custom function to switch the selector to the joystick multi-controller?
Okay, I looked on my 30d - custom function 13 is focus point selection method - I have mine on multi-controller direct.
I have no idea, but could it be a problem with this? Maybe you switched focus point selection method, and now you're still using the old method, which the camera no longer recognizes?
