Have you ever noticed the arrow in the FedEx logo?



I'm a big fan of NYC photographer Jay Maisel -- I went to see him about 4 years ago and in his slideshow he had a picture of a FedEx truck in New York City...then he had a picture of just the E and the x -- I was like "wow, how come I've never noticed that before?"

Simplicity can be VERY effective.

I just see so many "logo" posts these days...it bears a refresher post.

I just stared so long at that trying to figure out what arrow you were talking about. Then I read Phil's comment about negative space and was like "DOH!" lol

I love telling people about the arrow, cause then they're all "I can't believe you noticed that, you're so smart!" and I, trying to be polite, just nod and smile. I wouldn't want to be rude and correct them.

I never noticed it until I read some random blog post a couple months back about the logo's designer. Now it's all I notice. It really is a brilliant logo idea.
