Does or has anyone ever used iweb for blogging if so can I see it?
What's your 2 cents?
rowena
me. I like it fine. Right now tho it's comment capability is not working cuz of the mobile me thingy that I need to update.
Shane LaFever
Thanks Rowena.
I like it.
I saw the comment thing is disabled now or I would have commented on your images.
You have some great ones.
Do you use it as your site/blog?
rowena
yes. I've had enough togs tell me I should have a better website but i'm not where I feel the need. When I ask clients they tell me that it did not matter to them.

Brody Dezember is a master blogger and he uses iWeb.

Go into system preferences and open your .mac preference pane... wait a few minutes (and as long as you have OS X 10.5.4) and you'll get a little pop up asking you to update to mobile me. Click "update" and it will update your software to mobile me. This is unfortunately not tied directly to Mac OS X software update, which was a huge annoyance/inconvenience to me within the past few days.

Thanks for replying. I have updated already but it's still not working. It has been very frustrating, people are calling me telling me that they are trying to comment but can't. Hoping to see genius today.

The only thing I hate about those iWeb blogs is the STUPID url's!

You can set it up in your MobileMe account to route to your own domain. Sweet! thumbsup.gif

I looked a Sara's blog and site.
She does use it but she wasn't real strong on it.
I have a blogger blog but it really isn't as flexible as iweb and I don't have to mess with code.

Hey Shane, sounds like you've had some experience with iWeb. Are you thinking of going back? It really is a piece of cake to use (except for the commenting issue right now) but I think it will be fixed tomorrow since I'm going to the genius bar!!! Anyway, for me, right now, I've no need to change but ask me again in a month!

I tried making a personal site/blog using iWeb. It does provide a quick and easy way to create/update your blog in minutes.

However, I feel like my photos don't appear as sharp as the photos I upload in my blogger. Either I'm doing something wrong, or I'm doing something wrong biggrin.gif

Plus, somehow, the pages don't load that quick on IE. But it does well on Safari.

I've just played with the application. never posted anything.I thought my pics looked ok on iweb. I love that you can lay out things the way you want.I'm asking a few ore folks. The thing is you can always move your site but you can't move a blog. it seems like more of long term commitment. Am I wrong about that? can you move entries to another blog?

Your blogger looks great. did you edit the code yourself?

I really have no idea since I started blogging through iWeb only. I like the uncluttered look and even more so the simplicity of getting around so iWeb provides that for me and I'm happy.

my website is built through iweb and routed to my own domain name. I have not tried the blogging thing yet, but will be curious to hear more replies on that. the only complaint I have ever gotten is that it loads the borders slowly..and that is from other photographer friends, not ever from any clients or anything.

Thanks, shane! smile.gif The codes were done by my business partner, oly ruiz, who is here at osp as well. It's our business website. Here are my personal ones - www.racheresurreccion.blogspot.com and from the iweb, web.mac.com/racheyrache

I think I'd have to learn more about iWeb to put its features to good use. Time to google up some tips.

I use iWeb, and my blog is my home page. It needs more work, but I'm waiting until some of the MobileMe kinks get worked out.

Just wanted to update... was at the genius bar yesterday at Apple and the guys said that mobileme has some issues that they are still trying to iron out so just hang on a couple of days. He said I'm lucky that at least I've been able to publish and only dealing with the commenting issue. He had already seen a couple of peeps that can't even publish at all.

violetbliss
Yeah, there's much discussion about all the issues on the MobileMe forums at Apple.

WOOOO HOOOO! My commenting issues are now fixed! Doing the jig, w/o my blogging I felt a strange disconnect.
violetbliss
Yay! I checked mine, and it's working, too. smile.gif
