So I never do family sessions, which is kind of funny. I've never really pursued that market, and I don't really know why, but the other day I got a call from a friend of mine who is a single dad with two hilarious boys and we did a sweet family session, and I'd LOVE your comments on it! Here's a quick one, the rest are on my blog:

I think it's awesome! I love it when portraits show each person's personality and I see that in this picture. A lot of times parents always want all the kids looking perfect and smiling (which is why I'm sometimes reluctant to shoot them), but all you take away from that is what a struggle it was to get them looking "right."

You should really do more family stuff! Checked the blog and I'm lovin the brotherly love shots towards the end. Good stuff! smile.gif

Nice shot. On the critique side they don't stand out much from the tree and the background. Maybe a little burn and dodge magic would help thumbsup.gif I'm sure you know how to do it, but here a vid about B&D control...

Either way I like it. HAs a great family feel to it thumbsup.gif

Thanks, Gavin. I agree that they don't stand out enough, you're totally right about the dodging & burning. Typically I only make those kinds of adjustments to special enlargements and such, so I'll for sure keep that in mind! Thanks for posting the tutorial, great stuff smile.gif

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! Maybe I'll have to do more family sessions after all!! smile.gif
