I have posted this request on another forum so apologies if you have read it elsewhere, but so far I haven't had an answer thats fixed the problem. I'm sure there's got to be someone on here who can help.

Okay here goes, MacPro, Leopard, CS3, Canon i9950 printer. Can someone please post a screen capture of the print settings if you are using this configuration.
I spent the whole of yesterday along with a full set of ink and a box of 50 sheets of A4 paper trying to get the prints to look anything like they do on the monitor.
The monitors are calibrated using a Spyder 2 and prints from labs appear okay. When I print to the canon, I am getting banding in the blue areas, despite new ink cartridges. The stoney colours on an image look very red and overall to saturated.
I have tried using the icc profiles from the paper manufacturer to no avail, I must have tried every combination possible!!
I'm pretty sure that it's my settings what are to pot so an idiot guide would be very much appreciated.

I don't know if it makes any difference but I printed some contact prints from Lightroom and they look fine using the draft mode. Tried printing an A4 print from Lightroom using various settings including draft mode and get the same bad results.

HEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!

Would do but I forgot to mention, I also have an Epson 7600 Stylus Pro A1 printer, i'm having the same problems with that. Just printing a black & white canvas, or at least that's what it's supposed to be!! ... it is a bluey/green tinted b & w canvas as it's coming off the printer. It's therefore not the canon in particular. I've googled this and a lot of people are having problems printing from CS3.... not good for an expensive piece of software.

This is really now starting to do my head in!!! 17.gif

The banding in the blue areas doesn't sound too healthy to me. It may well be something wrong with the printer.

Other than that I don't use a Canon printer but with Epson I always make sure in the first box that pops up that the printer profile is set to Photoshop Manages Colors and then in the next settings under color management make sure it's set to off otherwise the printer takes over again. I'm pretty certain you know all that though. Wish I could help more.

Can you post some screen shots of your settings, that way maybe we can help?

There pretty much as Sophia describes above. I've tried so many settings now, it seems that every print, regardless of what settings I use is coming out the same.

I've trolled through google and copied the recommended settings but they don't seem to work, i was hoping there was someone with the same set up who could list exactly how they have it set.

Reading on google it appears that there is a problem with CS3 and printing, although I don't suppose it affects everyone, it's just there doesn't seem to be an answer. I've got £4k worth of Mac computers, a £2k large format printer and a £500.00 printer and can't get a useable print off any of them!! So frustrating.
