Full Version: Crumpler Million Dollar Bags

I have outgrown my previous bag, and I always had issues with it because it's a sling backpack style and I :ahem: have big boobs. wink.gif The strap was either too low, too high, or just plain uncomfortable. I am looking for something I can wear messenger-style and I'm leaning towards getting a Crumpler. I am not sure which of the "million dollar" ones would be best. 6 Million? 7 Million?

The Crumpler site is excruciatingly cute and entertaining, but does not offer enough info and pictures for a bag junkie like myself.

It would be enormously helpful if someone could post some interior shots of this bag so I can get a feel for the compartments and amount of stuff I can cram into one. Pretty please with sugar???

Now here's the part where I tell you all how embarrassingly bad my gear is, and after you get done laughing, you tell me what sized Million Dollar Home I need. K, Ready?

-Canon 40D
-Sigma 18-55mm
-Sigma 50-150mm
-Canon 100mm
-Canon 50mm
-420EX (old school, baby!)
-Extension tubes (may still carry them even though I have the macro now.)
-Lightfong (that's what I call it at least)

Bear in mind that now that I've converted my other half to Canon (yay!) we'll be buying more glass and will probably be doing some renting as well. (So I may need space for an extra lens once in awhile.) Eventually I'm going to need to accomodate a 70-200. We also have skyports to stash away somewhere and need space for various things like spare batteries, business cards, etc.

My main reason for choosing the crumpler bag is that it looks like you can access it fairly quickly to change lenses on the fly. (And I like the looks.) I'll probably eventually get a shootsac too, but my priority right now is a bag that can be used for transport and isn't too terrible to walk around with. If there's some other similar bag I'm overlooking, let me know!

I have the 7 million dollar bag in that lavendar blue. I like it. Fits 2 camera bodies and my lenes and cards. It gets bulky though (lots of padding). I use that as my carryall bag and leave it in the car.

I looked at the site and they are very cute, but I have no experience with them... However, I have your same ummmm... errrr... problem??? (big boobs) and I just spotted the Tenba Messanger Bag the other day and it was super comfortable to wear. B&H carries it and it's only about 95.00. It has space for a laptop too! Just a thought smile.gif

Hi Lynn, I don't have pics handy but, I own the 7 million, it's awful!! 1 camera, 3 lenses, 2 flash and a light meter and I'm stuffed. I keep my cf cards in front pocket (lots of velcro) so, it screams whenever I have to change my card! yuck! And if you have cats? forget about it, the material attracts cat hair like it's going out of season! I have to carry a lint brush just for the bag!! It's big, bulky and just plain ugly! I also have the 200 slingshot, now, thats perfect for any thing but a wedding. It's too bulky. I would LOVE the shootsac but, no way will I put my 70-200 in there, I wish JC would design one for us zoom people! I have 5 bags and am still on the lookout for the perfect wedding bag!

Candy, you make some compelling points. I have a small crumpler messenger bag that I use like a purse and it has monster velcro. I forgot about that. Making noise during a ceremony is definitely a concern. I guess the search will continue. Gonna go check out than Tenba Ashley mentioned! =)

ok so I am on the hunt for a new bag as well. I have the shootsac but it is a little too flimsy for me. I set it down a lot and I don't feel like it protects my gear. I want something lightweight that will carry a couple of lenses and cards. Any ideas in your searching?
