Full Version: So, this is me (um... I)

Okay, so I'm new to this site, and so far, I'm a little intimidated! blink.gif The registration process reminded me a little of the background check I had to go through when I became a teacher. At any rate, I realize that the process is probably worth it. I haven't seen everything on this site yet, but I am anxious to find out what it's all about!

A few things about me... I teach English at a local high school in my hometown (hence the weird topic title... I'm a shameless self-editor!). I just started becoming a little more serious about using my camera and possibly making a little money shooting pictures. camera.gif That's one reason why my sign on name is Nicole Evans Photography: it just seems "legit" (whether it actually is remains to be seen!). I'm currently working on a portfolio which is being made into an "updated" website, so I'm also glad for the opportunity to glean expertise and suggestions from this community to help me "up my game"! 51.gif

I look forward to getting to know you all!

I'm pretty sure "this is me" is considered correct:

QUOTE
usage Me is used in many constructions where strict grammarians prescribe I. This usage is not so much ungrammatical as indicative of the shrinking range of the nominative form: me began to replace I sometime around the 16th century largely because of the pressure of word order. I is now chiefly used as the subject of an immediately following verb. Me occurs in every other position: absolutely <who, me?>, emphatically <me too>, and after prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs, including be <come with me> <you're as big as me> <it's me>. Almost all usage books recognize the legitimacy of me in these positions, especially in speech; some recommend I in formal and especially written contexts after be and after as and than when the first term of the comparison is the subject of a verb.

You have the clearest, brightest, most "sparkly" pictures I think I've ever seen! They actually made my eyes crinkle (in a good way)!

It's so weird... I came back to my computer to google how to cut a watermelon (yes, I am that lame) in preparation for my bible study and I saw your reply. Of course, I had to click on your links, so here I am, almost AN HOUR LATER, saying, "nice site... I like your blog!" laughing.gif
