I posted about this on my forum but feel that everyone here needs to read this article as well.

Me---> deadhorse.gif <--- stupid govt. officials that think we are cattle
Matt Antonino
And some people still wonder why I refuse to help people who refuse to help themselves. lol

Ok, so people are in an uproar about this. And this afternoon they'll read Perez Hilton. And tomorrow they'll forget about this until it becomes standard practice after "extensive testing" and another "attack" Let's put it this way, it would be incredibly EASY to make Americans go for this. You introduce the idea now, you introduce the reality when the shock has worn off and after an attack on "us."

Simple really. People ARE cattle.
Phil P
normally I think you're a little too paranoid about govt records, but you're right on with this one, what a stupid idea. but i'm sure people will jump on board this, in the name of protecting us from the boogeyman terrorists.
Johnny
You are correct, Matt. Sad - so very sad.

It's the "Problem, reaction, solution..." at its best

And it is only a matter of time before everyone opts to be chipped... 'for safety reasons". SpyChips

I saw this a while ago. It scares me.

I have never flown. With this, I may never.

I made the decision not to fly after the 9/11 attacks, not because I fear terrorists - on the contrary, I fear those who are trying to 'protect' us from the terrorists.

Well, they probably don't have one to match my shoes anyway.
Ginger
nope. i love to fly, but i would never step foot on a plane again.

I agree.

I once heard a quote from (I presume) a political figure ... (forgive me, I cannot remember who said this):

In order to control man (humanity), you must cut off his options.

Do you even get peanuts anymore? I think you have to pay for those now, too.

usually it's pretzels, probably because people have peanut allergies.

So do you who refuse to fly drive everywhere or just not go anywhere?

That's a silly question.
Drive of course. It is just, speaking for myself, my travels are limited to where the road ends.

I'm cool with it.

Tami - Imagine if a hijacker got their hands on the remote that controls the bracelets. Hmmmm.....

This is shocking....I am married to a Swede and trips to Sweden are required at least once a year. I swear I feel more and more violated getting on a plane since 9/11 and it just seems that there is no limit as to how far they will go.

Exactly... makes you wonder who the real terrorists are. rolleyes.gif
Btw, can you go into detail a bit more?

Silly why?

I was being serious.

I do know of some people who have opted not to do any traveling - driving or otherwise because of fear.

I'm sorry you thought it was silly. I think not flying is silly.

Silly because I'm a wedding photographer (as are many here on OSP) and to me it just seemed silly - sorry if I misunderstood. Lord knows I'm not going to take a taxi everywhere I go and ask anyone who knows me - I absolutely LOVE to drive. If my wife would let me, I'd be driving a motorcycle everywhere I go... I love the road.

I am not afraid to fly, just don't like having to show my 'papers' and I like to be in control of my gear/stuff. Having my clothes and gear with me in my car (which I love) is reason enough for me NOT to fly anymore... but with all the bs that goes along with flying nowadays, I have even more reasons to avoid it.

If things were different and 'security' wasn't so focused on treating everyone like a suspected terrorist (requiring some ridiculous screening procedures) then I would have no problem traveling via plane.

Matt - Ah... I see that now.

Yep.

Hell, I gotta drive three hours just to get to the airport anyway. Flights out of Canada are not as cheap as you're used to seeing with seat sales either.

The ONLY time I plan on flying anytime soon is for the "big move" My sisters husband is in the AirForce and they are currently in Fairbanks, AK. Well, come October, I get to fly to Fairbanks and help her drive the RV they own from Fairbanks to Colorado or Chicago. I'll tell you after the trip which was worse, but I'm almost going to guarantee the flight will be. I always get stuck in the WORST seat and with my height it only makes it worse. I get no sympathy from the check-in clerks and occasionally I find a nice flight attendant that will try to get me a better seat. But between that and taking my camera bag, which is going to mean a while in Security scrutinizing what I'm carrying... it's not going to be a short, or a fun flight. I think it's 5 to seattle from Chicago then another 5 to Fairbanks. Hah, maybe she can set me up with a cruise ship to Anchorage and pick me up there. smile.gif

I really do wonder who they are trying to protect sometimes. I mean, if people are so hell bent on blowing up or hijacking planes, they will eventually find a way. It's just a matter of time...

Hah, we better watch out.. big brother might be reading these threads and we might all end up on the no-fly list! tongue.gif
