Full Version: Changing SIW's default email message
OpenSourcePhoto > GetIt > Showit Web

Hi Guys, David,

How can I change the default text that is automatically entered into my mail programs subject and message?

I want mine to be more personalised to my business, and also not explicitly give the URL of the actual iFrame. I need it to direct my prospective customer to the page I want to specify.

Before someone says it, yes I know I can overtype whats automatically entered, but that's not the point.

Thanks

Kevin

It's in the language xml that can be customized but I think it always includes the URL to the show. You can find it in the "Controls" "Advanced" tab under "Player Language" and there is some help info by clicking on the ? that explains how to customize it.

Thanks for taking the time to answer Todd, top man!

Yes, this is the way to go, but doesn't stop the most unwanted bit from being inserted; namely the physical URL of the slideshow. This may be enough for some users, but my site neatly 'embeds' SIW as an iFrame. If the email recipient clicks on this link in the message - sure they'll get the slideshow, but in a fresh browser window without any reference to my site, or the ensuing links designed to direct potential customers the business end of things.

So, is David's code more accessable? Has anyone else been able to get around this??

Any help greatly (desparately) apreciated!

Kevin
