Hi everyone
I have done a search on this as I am sure that i had seen topics on this but I couldnt find anything.
I have been offered to photograph head shots of 12 people plus some working enviroment shots, with the possibility of shooting 60 to 70 more people from the same business, they also mentioned some clean up in photoshop of skin blemishes etc that would be required. they want around 4 shots of each person. they are going to use them on stationery and a staff directory. I have done these types of shots before when I was working for a studio, but as the photographer I have no idea what they charged.

any help would be apprecaited

figure out how much time it will take you (set up, shooting, pp) and then figure out how much you want to be paid per hour.

I did a corporate shoot, with enviromental shots, and since then decided I only do half day shoots. My licencsing (sp) includes one use only (eg internal use - noting that any external use/use in advertising, etc. is extra). I also do an on-line proof gallery (or you could do a proof DVD), and then get them to choose the shots (my first corp. gig, I also ended up having to reshoot, because none of the girls liked their pictures. That was when I decided to pp only after they'd veiwed the proofs.)

Thank you for the input, I was going to pp before they got the disc, perhaps I will wait until they choose the shots. I was offered this job from a bride whos wedding i photographed earlier this year
I would like to actually do more of this type of work but not sure how to market myself in this direction. does anyone have any tips on how to market yourself to the corporate sector for headshots?

charging should be paid not per hour but per layout/head based on the complexity of the shoot (how much skill level is required) and on where they are going to use it. inexperienced photographers will take more time to finish this work than those who do it more often, so it should not be that those that take more time to finish it get to charge more right?

your per hour might be more than newbies or less than prominent pros but it's not that way to charge.

It's always on a per layout/concept/photo when it comes to shoots like these. Just factor in post production, number of shots, intent of use, turn around time, location of the shoot, equipment to be used, etc. Then try to prepare estimates in case they exceed the requirement wink.gif

goodluck.
