So what is it for you? I already admitted that the Bee Gees are on my playlist. I've got a little John Denver as well. Umm, Will Smith's Summertime, Gettin' Jiggy Wit It and Men In Black are on there too. Oh, the Gypsy Kings are a must. Arturo Sandoval's Maleguena, simply amazing. The Go Go's, Metallica's S and M album is incredible. But my favorite band of all time...... The Beach Boys. Until you've heard The River Song written by Dennis Wilson, you've not really heard the Beach Boys. So what will you admit to listening to? Hmm? Or maybe you've just discovered something and want to share it. smile.gif

For me it's has to be Duran Duran. My wife and I went and so them two years ago. Other than that I am a product of the Hair Metal days. Love the Motley Crue, Van Halen, Ratt, Tesla, etc. OK all of those are from the 80's.....opps

i hope you have dennis wilson's pacific blue. talk about a broken heart. wub.gif

i saw the beach boys in concert, in tucson, arizona, in the summer of '78 i believe - me and my girls were invited to go to the after concert party wtih them - we were too chicken for some reason - dennis wilson ended up getting arrested for having an under age girl in his room.......

i love some of the english bands over here that dont get a lot of play in the states

lighthouse family - their music is just simply uplifting and beautiful

richard ashcroft - he is my absolute, all time favorite and i hope to some day photograph him.

simply red - mick is about to retire simply red and just go out as mick hucknell - retire the songs as well.....

Hard Fi

Massive Attack

i also love:

ryan bingham
the goo goo dolls
collective soul
third eye blind
Lifehouse

and - the one band who i will never ever grow tired of: The BoDeans - i have absolutely everything they have ever released, even imports. if i had to choose just one band to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be them, hands down. they are from waukesha wisconsin and just some home town boys that can rock the roof off of any place.

The Beach Boys should never be thought of as a guilty pleasure...definitely on my top 5 for best bands ever. Pet Sounds hasn't left my cd player in the car for months.

Guilty pleasures:
• Christmas music all year
• Some Christina Aguilera
• Richard Cheese
• Abba
• My own bands...I know it's kind of pretentious, but I wouldn't have played with them if I didn't like the music afterall.

Not so guilty pleasures:
• Spoon
• Smashing Pumpkins
• Neutral Milk Hotel
• Band of Horses
• Talking Heads
• Superdrag
• Fountains of Wayne
• Say Anything
• Motion City Soundtrack
• Bad Religion
• Weezer
• Ozma
• Doves
• Pete Yorn
• I could go on and on...

Sounds like Twisted Sister, or Poison, or, uh, Boy George. You ever think Dee Snider and Boy George would be in the same sentence?
Mark Christensen
Eeeewwww Boy George and Dee Snider, bad image in my mind.

So this morning as I'm blasting through a wedding it's the little known but totally rocks, Stryper - Against The Law. Dude this album kills! Rock The Hell Out Of You..... Ouch my ears ARE bleeding. Gotta turn it down....................... NOT!
Michelle Ross
Guilty pleasure: playing the same cheesy reception dance songs I hear every Saturday Night

4 minutes- Madonna
Low Low Low- T-Pain
Hot Girlfriend like Me
Anything Fergie

OMG and how can I forget Haddaway???
I am SO glad that song is making a tacky comeback at receptions!
Mark Christensen
HOW COULD YOU CHICKEN OUT????? I'M SO EMBARRASSED TO SAY I KNOW YOU NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY Yes, Pacific Ocean Blue is great, I love that album. When I think of the Beach Boys I seldom think of the hits. I think of albums like that, Pacific Ocean Blue, Vegetable, LA Light Album, 15 Big Ones etc. Stuff that most have never heard before. I love it and always have.

Frankie Goes to Hollywod (yeah I know), Eurythmics, Thomas Dolby, Oingo Boingo, all time favorite QUEEN!!! There's this one dude that I can't seem to remember his name and I want to get his music... from the 80's and he used to paint his face looking Indian like with feathers in his hair. Argh, his name escapes me! Maybe you guys know.
Mark Christensen
Tami, I'm gonna need to see some pictures LOL

Rowena, you don't mean David Lee Roth on the cover of Going Crazy do you? Did Adam Ant do that?

Adam Ant!!!! Mark, you're good!
Rachael Earl
ABBA-"Take a Chance on Me" has to be one of my all-time favorite songs

Queen (one of the greatest bands ever!)
Jackson 5

OK, and I really like AC/DC and Guns N Roses

Oh, and the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing.

And just because it was big when I was in middle school, Wilson Phillips.

OK, and who can forget one hit wonders like LEN!

But mostly punk (old and new), ska (old and new), and music that they deem "alternative" whatever that is anymore...
Jebb
Queen also makes my list of top five bands ever. Seaside Rendezvous = buttah.
