Does anyone have an suggestions as to how I can pose a bridal party consisting of 8 BM's, 8 GM's, the B&G and the Flowergirl and Ring Bearer?

When I booked this wedding there were 3 on each side, but according to the Bride, the Groom got carried away and all of his 'High School' buds come as a 'Package Deal!'

Any thoughts on what to do with such a large group so they dont look like a class picture from middle school?

Hi Amy. Did you try searching the forum for some tips? I found this link. Hope it helps.

Try 16 guys and 10 girls!

Thankfully they were good at following instructions smile.gif

My goodness! How did you handle the last shot? Were you on a ladder? What mm lens did you use?

That was a 16-35mm zoomed out to 16 on a 1D3 at f/2.8, and I was standing on a hill smile.gif

My favorite part, though, was all the individual shots. I had everybody line up, shot one, "Next!" shot another, "Next!" It was like herding cattle.

Thanks guys. I dont' know who has THAT many friends!!! How many guests were at the wedding if there were a schoolbus load of people standing?

I appreciate you showing me what you did though. The individual pics were a great idea!

Ooh I just saw this thread. Matt those pictures are AWESOME, I particularly love the ones of all the girls, I am keeping those in my head for inspiration for my mega wedding party in August.

BTW I agree.. if I had that many people in my wedding party, I would have had hardly had any guests.. smile.gif I only had about 25-30 guests at our wedding that were my friends and family.

A great saying for this is "it is what it is".
What I like to do is tell the couple to get together, families on either side and then I say "find a comfy spot, settle down and hang out"
also, ask them to move around so that they have a full clear view of you - if they are hiding they wont be seen.
how often do you actually make HUGE prints of those shots anyway??

Thanks for sharing Matt! I have a wedding in October with 11 on each side...I already had planned on the individual it was ust coming up with creative ideas for the large groups together...And keeping those ideas locked in when Im under pressure and trying to organize everyone. I need to work on my "crazy photographer" organizing skills. Im not good at raising my voice and getting people to do what I tell them.

Im praying for a hill. : )
