I know Kubota's MS is the poo, however it comes at a price $$$ . And I am sure the action set is totally worth it! I have also heard everyone saying that TRA Revenge is super sweet! Does the new TRA set have a great sharpening action as well? I thought I saw someone mention that in a post. I know they are very different sets of actions, but the idea here is that I want all the sweet super fun actions of TRA Revenge, but a great sharpening action as well. I can really only invest in one or the other so I wanted to get some input from people who have used them.
Opinions please

I just got the new TRA set but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. It does have a new sharpening action that is supposedly awesome...I can't wait to use it! Until then, though, I have been using Kubota's MS, which you can get from them as a stand-alone for only $30. You just have to call them since they don't advertise it on their site as a stand-alone. Totally worth $30 though regardless! :-)

Find dustin francis profile on OSP - on his blog he did an amazing tutorial on sharpening and at the end of it you can download his actions for free and they rock - there is a complete thread on here somewhere all about it - surprised you missed it as it wasnt that long ago...

I like TRA Revenge's "Slice Like A Ninja" for people.
Kubota's Magic Sharp is also good for blog size photos 900 pixels wide.
I have used Dustin's sharpening actions for landscape and architecture shots and they are amazing. He has different strength actions for full size and blog images.

I really like TRA's Revenge. Both slice like a ninja and cut like a razor blade are good. Somewhat similar to MS. The whole action set rocks though- totally worth the money

Sure thing! Most assuredly there are any number of different actions that all do more or less the same thing with a local contrast adjustment to create a kind of "pop" to the image, but Dustin's post on here was indeed excellent, and I believe someone already included a link to it. You might also find this tutorial from Michael Reichmann useful:
Thanks for all the kind words and I'm so glad that my sharpening actions are helping some of you out! I have been working on a new sharpening action for about a month now I am calling Pop and Sizzle. I am a big fan of the sharpening actions in TRA2...they really are great.
The action I am working on, is a sharpening method that you can batch on full res (12MP ideally) images and it will sharpen edges, but leave smooth areas alone. I do have a masked sharpen in my action set, which is what Pop and Sizzle is closest to, but it is different. I'm not 100% happy with the action yet, but when I am, I will update my sharpening page on my blog and let you all know.
Have a great 4th everyone!

I have a few sharpening tools, but I though I'd throw out a freebie that I have on Seim Effects. Visual Razor II
This is a general use sharpen and enhance action. There's a new one coming out in my soon to be released Photographer Essentials pack, but hey this is a freebie. You can't go wrong.
