After about 10 weddings this year, I have managed to finally get myself into the position to buy the 24-70L 2.8 and I got my 5D in today. I rented the 40D for my last two weddings and used my 30D as backup. I really liked the 40D, but it didn't seem to do much more than my 30D. Maybe I wasn't using it to its full potential, but after ordering it only to receive it with a shutter issue right out of the box, I sent it back and purchased the 5D instead. After only a few hours I have fallen in love with the 5D. The full frame is awesome and it makes my 24-70L way more usable for those wide shots. I can't wait to shoot my first wedding with it. It should also come in handy for my trip to LA this coming week.

If anyone is doing any shooting for fun around the LA between the 3-10 let me know. Also, does anyone around the area know of any awesome firework displays that might be going?

Congrats! I have both the 40D and 5D and love them both for various reasons BUT I have to say that I used my 85mm the other day and I cannot believe how much I neglect that combo! I need to use the two more often as I always have the 85mm on my 40D... Good luck, you will love it!!! Congrats!

I too just got a 5d two weeks ago. It's a great tool, and annoyed at myself for waiting so long to get it. But i am really happy to see the full frame of my 24L now.
