Our Canada Day fireworks were last night at midnight here. We only get fireworks two times a year.

Canada Day when it's not really dark at midnight.

Halloween, when you freeze your finger trying to get the shots. blink.gif

So I got about ten minutes to try something tonight. This is what I got.

Thanks all! You sure don't get much time. I couldn't even imagine being at long fireworks show. I'd be in seventh heaven.

I like it a lot. I like the people in the frame. I am going to try and catch some shots at a fireworks show we're watching Thurs night.

I like it! I'm a fireworks lover myself...love, love, love photographing them. I can't wait for the 4th.

Hey Sarah, I have a shot of a B&G with fireworks in the background that I have to nail this Saturday; and I only have a couple of frames to get it right... mind sharing the settings used for this (including the flash)?

Hey there,

1. Found the spot with the least ambient light and a couple of spectators
2. Camera on tripod, handheld flash
3. f 7.1 3.2 sec. ISO 100 10mm
4. Used the remote trigger and manually triggered the flash by hand during the exposure to light the people.

Thanks! I was figuring on f11, 3sec, ISO 100... guess I'll just have to wing it (which I seem to always do anyhow lol)
