I paid a designer to do a logo for me several months ago. I'd used her previously and been very happy, and this time around started out the same way. However, after I received my logo files I waited for the files for the business cards and letterhead...and waited...and waited some more. I sent her a few emails that were never returned, and then I ended up getting them within 3 or 4 weeks.

Fast forward a couple more weeks and I'm ready to finally place an order with my files, but in the mean time I had a phone number change. I emailed her back and asked if she could change it and send me the updated files, and she said no problem.

That was about 2 weeks ago and I haven't received them yet. I've sent at least one email and again, no reply.

I love my logo, but at this point I've paid for a couple of basic marketing materials to go with it but I can't use them because of the outdated phone number. I also need other marketing materials designed in the future, but I've pretty much lost all confidence that things will get done.

I don't know where to go from here...I really can't afford to have another logo and more marketing materials designed, nor can I keep waiting around for her to get the work done that she promised me. The files I have are tiffs...I don't even know if anyone else could work with them if I could find someone willing to use my logo to design the stuff I need.

I'd really appreciate any feedback you guys can give me. I don't know where to go from here!

you just need a phone number changed on the Tiff file? If it's a common font, you could very easily do it in photoshop. Feel free to give me a call or email me the file and I can give it a whirl. If you need more than a phone number change, I probably would be no help.

Lisa, did the designer send you the files she/he used to create everything with, or did you get jpgs? If you have a pdf file, I could edit it for you as well (free of charge)... let me know

Lisa, ---very important--- make sure you get a vector file from her for your logo and not just a tiff or a jpg.

Vectors are scalable without degradation, and can be edited by you in Illustrator. If you don't have illustrator, you can download the trial version and make any changes you need.

Tiff and jpgs are bit map and if you make them big it can get ugly.

I don't have vector files (I know, I know). I went back and checked and the files for the biz cards and letterhead are PDF's.

I'd be thrilled if someone could just change the number for me, but that doesn't help me with the other documents I still need.

I feel like I'm going to have to break down and get ANOTHER new logo, just so I can get all of the materials I need.

well, fwiw, i find the mere fact that she can't supply you with product with the new phone number in a timely manner, troubling.

I think I know who you are talking about. I've been trying to get info from this designer for weeks on pricing, and am finally just giving up and moving on and trying to find someone else to go with. It is extremely frustrating. I hope someone on here gets you taken care of!
