Full Version: Working from external hard drive?
OpenSourcePhoto > Digital Photography > Post Processing > Lightroom

I just finished taking a few pictures and was wondering if I could put all my pictures on my external hard drive. Then, I would import them into lightroom. Next, I would make my adjustments and export them. Lastly, I would export them into a sub-folder in the original event and sync them with lightroom... Does that sound okay? Is there a problem with that?

I have been working on all my images on an external HD for the last year. No problems yet. Little slower for me, especailly burning backups.

No offense, but....HUH? Sounds like too many steps to me. Here's my workflow and it is by no means perfect. Download cards, backup RAW to external HD and DVD, import as DNG to LR, make adjustments, rename, save all changes, export low res for web upload. At some point I'll make another backup of the DNG files.

Just my 2 cents.
