I'm curious as to what everyone things should be used as the front page of a photographer's website. Should it be a blog? A gallery? Or something else? Please discuss.

Yep.

Logo, yes. But isn't that technically a splash page? smile.gif

So my answer is actually splash page; using your logo. Splash page should also have a link-to-blog, granted the photographer has one.

And I definitely wouldn't use a blog or an image gallery as the front page? to my main site. A link to each other I can understand, but I wouldn't consider it a front page. I feel that would undermine the significance of the blog, or vice versa, the site. I feel they (site and blog) should be treated as two separate sites, even if they relate to the same business. That's just me.

A few things.

• Some kind of photo or photos. I truly believe that people go to a photographer's website to see their work and possibly get in touch with them.

• Some sort of contact information or a link to the contact information.

• Logo.

A splash page as an index page, has a small draw back, limited to no content! unsure.gif
