Hey everyone! I've been a lurker for a long while... and figured it was finally time to introduce myself. I'm an aspiring wedding photographer, just getting ready to throw myself into the deep-end.
Recently, I've advertised for some no-cost engagement/couple sessions and got a pretty good response, so I have a few lined up for this month and I have two friends (gorgeous, I might add) who are begging me to do boudoir sessions for them, which I'm thinking will be amazing!
So, I'm really excited and anxious! I've never really had a session with anyone that wasn't family or friends. Also, I'm pretty new to my area -- moved all the way from Ohio to Vancouver, BC.
If you have any advice for a first shoot (mainly directing people around), feel free to shower that on me. I'd truly appreciate anything! Or if you happen to be from the Vancouver area and would be interested in meeting up for coffee, just let me know!
I'm beyond excited to be part of this community!

Hey Ashley! We're stoked to have you here and I know your first shoots are gonna rock.
As much as possible I try to get them to forget about me and on an engagement shoot that's harder to do but some good tricks are to start the shoot with them sitting down. This is something I always try for and then I back away to "get something outta my bag" and when I go back to the bag they start chatting and laughing about how awkward they feel and that's when I start shooting from a distance.
Here are some shots from a past engagement session.
Have a great time!
