I am bit frantic at the moment...
I thought I would be a smarty pants and add the twitter application to my custom blog.
(Red Flag there right????)
So I find my wp-content folder to upload the plug-in for the twitter php. Once I go back to my wordpress to activate the plug in (as told in the instructructions) my log in states:

"

Not Found
The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.39 Server at www.rebeccalinhrodgers.com Port 80"

So then I just think the simple fix is to just delete the upload. Not so. Site is still down. Next thought- at least I'll add a note on my slash page to give heads up that the blog is down at the moment. Too bad for me because my WHOLE SITE is down.
I have NO idea what to do.
I contacted flosites to see if they can help ASAP, but am hoping/praying that somebody here may be able to help to at least get things back up and running.

Note to self. I'm a photographer... not a web designer!!!!

ETA. All my sites are hosted with Blu. I have been in the process of trying to get my sites transferred to my new server (West Host) and Blu told me that they would do this by last week's Thursday. So sure enough it hasn't been done yet despite my updating my support ticket -and- creating a new one regarding the move as well as it not being done/responded to. I so far have been in the camp that haven't had any issues with Blu, but now am curious as this non-communication is starting to unfold.
Anyway- extra information if it helps.

Can't help you on the tech end as I am also a photographer - not a web designer - but you mentioned that you're switching from Blu to West Host - I had the same problem when I was switching over - my site was down for 2 days because Blu screwed something up. I put in a support ticket to them (actually several) and between them and (mostly) Troy at PickPic they got everything back up.

Crazy. Yeah, I am not sure if it just randomly occured at the same time and Blu moving it over as we speak. I keep checking my West Host control panel to see if there is any activity and it still says 0% on my disc quota. (I assume it would be more w/ my website right??)

Ironically, I am moving it over because i did purchase a pickpic cart and those guys have been soooo patient with how long it is taking Blu to switch my site over to West Host.

Ross from flosites informed me both blog and website have crashed and to contact Blu so I have yet, another support ticket out in the wind.

Breathing.... and chanting... "it's just a website. it's just a website."

The migration to WestHost isn't the smoothest process; we did it about a year ago.

It happens. Don't sweat it. One day down won't kill you.

PM me later if you're still having trouble. I may be able to help out.

Well-
2 days later and my site and blog are STILL down. sad.gif

Apparently the twitter application was a total coincidence- but still I have no answers as to why both sites are down. I was told while the website was being copied to West Host I wouldn't have any disruptions. I was going to take the opportunity while my site was still hosted by Blu to work on the "copied" on West Host so I could "relaunch" my site with new branding and the works. My hosting w/ blu ends in late July and since I tried starting this process 3 weeks ago I was actually trying to stay ahead of the game because of hiccups that could occur.Of course it wasn't/isn't as seemless as I would have liked-- but I didn't quite think it was going to be as crappy as this.

I use to be in the "blu has done no wrong (for at least me)" camp but now I embark the dark side with a few not responded support tickets, one being of the urgent matter, and absouletly no information as to why both sites are down. Nothing. At least being communicated to would be better then nothing.

I'm just venting at this point. I am not website savvy hence the template and custom blog so I feel like I am just at the whims of everbody that I depend on in these departments.

if you submitted tickets over the weekend, i doubt they are going to do anything about them until during the week - you leaving to host somewhere else isnt a priority in their pants, i am sure.

keep us posted as to what happened - i can't believe you dont ahve anything up right now, that is just awful.

My first ticket was on the 10th of June. They told me the move was going to be done at the lastest Thursday the 12th.

Sure, I don't expect to be priority, but stiiiiilllll. i can't stand when somebody says they are going to do something and just doesn't do it. principle here i suppose.

Going on day 3.

the problem is that the domains transferring, or down, either way the site doesnt work on any server, but the files are all being backed up now for being re-setup. We will keep you posted on what we can do our end.

The company that I purchased my domain isn't open until 11 west coast. I am transferring my domain over to westhost. biggrin.gif

And thank you Ross-- Flosites is making this transition much easier then Blu is.
