Full Version: SEtting up an SQL database on Blu Domain

Hi there! I have a Bludomain site and I am also hosting with them. I bought Jared's Wordpress Template (yeah!!) but I do not see anything on my C Panel/Admin site that talks about how to set up the SQL database.

Anyone already go down this road?? Thanks in advance for your help! Already put in a support ticket with Blu but we know how long that usually takes sad.gif

Thanks!

Ashley

Hey!

If you log into your cPanel, there is a button that says My SQL database Wizard, and if you go there I believe there is an option where it will automatically create a Wordpress data base. I believe that's how I did it for my Jared blog! I'm as web illiterate when it gets for that stuff but I finally figured it out haha.

it's in your HOSTING cPanel
not your website backend, so be sure you're looking in your hosting Cpanel

or host with another company... i've heard blu's hosting is spotty... and I know it's expensive. you can host with http://www.ipower.com for $6.95/month and they offer a ridiculous amount of space and transfer with a TON of other stuff you'd be more than happy with....

And yes, bludomain will move your site over to a new host for you.

We're interested in adding the wordpress blog to our bludomain website, and I've looked on my Cpanel, but don't see "My SQL database wizard". Just my e-mail stuff. Where am I going wrong?

Thanks a bunch!

Hey Grant,

I had a tough time finding it too. You need to go back to the first email Blu sent you and look at all of the info they gave you... I can't remember exactly where i found it but it was in an email where they sent me all the technical crap about the IP addresses and such. You will see an address, user name and password for the SQL stuff. If I get into my home computer tonight I will get more specifics and post again smile.gif

Hope that helps!
