It's been out for a while now, but I still haven't found a CD that's knocked "Sky Blue Sky" out of the top of my rotation. Jeff Tweedy is just an amazing singer/songwriter/guitar player. I haven't heard a song as emotionally naked as "Leave Me (Like You Found Me)" since the tragic death of Elliott Smith (the best singer/songwriter of all time IMHO) and the guitar solo in "Impossible Germany" is proof-positive that 99.9% of the crap they play on the radio simply cannot be considered music. Peace, y'all!

i picked this CD up a while ago and love it!

OMG, this is one of my all time favs. Wilco is da bomb. Every album they put out puts to shame 99.9% of anything they ever play on the radio. But then again, radio today is a complete wasteland.

Thank God there are folks here into my tastes in music!!!
Wilco Rocks.
"Being there" should be in everyone's collection.
On another recent thread, people were reminiscing about New Kids OTB & other pop drivel from the 90's.
Others are into Christian music...which is fine, but hardly appeals to me. I was thinking I was the only person here into the music that I am.
If you like Elliot Smith, Have you ever heard Jon Brion?
J Scott
Being there should be in everyone's collection that's for sure. Elliot Smith was fantastic too. Tragic again..why do they always take the best...Elliot, Jeff Buckley, SRV...

Absolutely! I've got his solo CD "Meaningless" and his group The Grays CD "Ro Sham Bo." Both are pure power-pop pleasure. Highly recommended. His production work is awesome, too.

It's great to find some like-minded music fans out there! Keep the suggestions coming. And if you all haven't yet, check out Loose Fur. It's Jeff Tweedy's side-project (which I think has basically evolved into the current incarnation of Wilco). I haven't found their s/t album, but "Born Again in the USA" is fantastic.

Peace y'all!

Also -- they're no longer together -- but check out Blue Mountain.

John Stiratt's sister was one of the leads.

Personally, Blue Mountain never clicked with me, but if you like them you should check out another of my favs - Jono Manson. He's not well known in the States outside of New Mexico, but he's a really darn good musician. Worth seeking out. Eric Ambel, who produced Blue Mountain's "Dog Days" album also produced some of Jono's stuff.

Wilco rules.

indeed. Love me some Wilco.

Agh!
This all makes me feel at home here. ;-)
These days, it takes a lot for me to even consider going out to see a band with Ticketbastard prices, gas, and the fact that I hate driving to LA from Orange County, but I'd like to see whatver Jeff Tweedy comes up with next.
Does anybody remember Golden Smog? it would be cool if they regrouped again.
The only other acts I care to see this year is My Bloody Valentine and hopefully Led Zeppelin if they decide to make a go of their reunion.
J Scott
Golden Smog was cool. Anyone like My Morning Jacket? I've been getting into Ryan Adams lately as well...and for some reason, I can't help but like Flight of the Conchords...just cracks me up
Dave T.
What I have heard of MMJ was good..I'll have to get their albums.

I tool love the Concords! They remind me a bit of Robyn Hitchcock
Courtney Allison
Oh how I love Wilco....
