For others who have the radiopoppers...how do you pack them up?
With the radiopoppers attached to the flashes, I can't carry the flashes in their original pouches, so I'm wondering how you carry them.
Do you disconnect them everytime? If so, do you have to keep replacing the black tape???
I'd love some feedback.
Thanks

Just wait a few days -- I suspect someone will be selling a fash/popper sac or something.

I'm starting a line of Flash/Popper Sacs actually. They're designer sacs that come with your choice of custom covers for an extra $99. The Flash/Popper sacs fit perfectly into your shootsac, and will be available for a limited time offer of $299, after which they will be priced normally at $399.
haha no but seriously.... flash popper sacs? throw the things in your bag.... won't they fit in an auxiliary pocket or something? I just slide my pocket wizards into whatever space is open, they're tough enough to take pretty much anything....

Well, I just got them, so I don't know how durable they are. They are held in place with Velcro and tape..so I'm assuming they might pull off.

Currently I am just leaving mine on but I am not using the velcor and tape.
What I have done is cut a piece of real thin black foam. Then fold it in half (or not depending on the thickness) and cut a tiny hole in it to run the fiberoptic through. I then place the fiber optic where I want it and and position the radiopopper on top of it and resting on the flash in the most stable spot. I then have a wide strip of elastic with some velcro sewed on that I wrap around the flash and radiopopper and it's done. Easy to take off and put back on and no worrying about the gafers tape.
Hope that makes sense

Ryan...do you have pictures of this? This sounds like a brilliant idea, but I'm having trouble picturing it.

Also Ryan...do you use the elastic for the unit as well as the fibre optic part?
Do you do this with the transmitter too or do you use the velcro for this?

Ok here is a link to tide you over till I get home
http://www.flickr.com/groups/strobist/disc...radiopopper+modAs you can see from the pictures in this flickr thread you use the elastic to hold it all on there. His looks better than mine but I will try to get some pictures at all angles so you can get a better idea.

Thanks Ryan for the write up. That looks like a great idea. I'm so glad I asked you for pictures, because that actually wasn't what I was imagining.
Thanks

Ok here goes. Like I said mine are not going to look as pretty as those in the link but may give you some more ideas. I used just what I had around and have not got around to doing them up right.

I didn't trim my fiberoptic cable yet just because I wanted to make sure everything was going to work right. I would also go with a thinner piece of elastic because as you can see this wide one blocks your view of everything (but it sure keeps everything in place)
Hope this helps.

i have a black hair band wrapped around mine and usually i just keep the flash on my camera. the velcro didn't hold it on very well.
