I normally do NOT get weepy over videos with cheesy music or sentimental-type stuff (except when it involves my own family), but this video is the SWEETEST thing I've seen in a long long time.
Just watch it - you'll cry.

Just read the story and then watched the video and now I'm all sniffley. What a neat story. You see stories like this and it just makes it so obvious that animals are capable of the same range of emotions people have. (And it makes it all the more heinous when something bad happens to them at the hands of idiot humans. Not to be a downer, but that's why I can't respond to Tami's post about that marine with the puppy. I just want to stab that guys eyes out with a rusty spoon. And frankly that's not punishment enough.)

Wow, that is some story. That is kind of what I think of my kitties, although a lot smaller and probably not going to knock me down. Sometimes I just feel like they get it, and they know way more then we give them credit for.

Oh geez. This is exactly what I *didn't* need to stumble upon tonight. I've been weepy because I just gave up an adorable little kitten my husband and I rescued last week. We can't keep her, but it was SO hard to hand her to someone else.
And then I read/watch this story about another feline.... And the tears continued to flow...!!

Oh my GOSH!!! That is serioulsy so sweet!!!
Sometimes these types of videos make you believe in love... and that life really is enjoyable:)
Made me laugh too... For a second, I thought the lion was going to run and then attack them, haha!
Oh, Melanie!! I am so sorry!!
Someone will swoop her up and love her to pieces, though. Don't you worry. Those kittens go fast, cause everyone wants a baby... but I understand it's hard, because I had to give up a puppy we found once.
I would love a kitten. Hubby says, "No. One cat is enough."

That was SO adorable. (I, too, had that moment of thinking they were easy prey.) Definitely tearing. My husband cried-- and watched it twice

Darnit, no we can NOT have a lion!

Cats need to have a friend. Although, with that logic, you might end up with 5 like us...

Of course I sobbed. then had to watch the entire documentary on youtube. and cried even more. Im up late because of that link you posted! I ended up doing research to learn more about the entire story and all about George Adamson. What a man. Complete Angel.

Thanks so much for sharing though, I cant believe it took this long for it to re-earth. they said it was becoming a shared video in late 2007-2008, 35 f'ing years later! I so wish I could make a difference in the world like this. Its my ultimate goal and passion..just wish I knew how. My heart pains right now because I am not able to do my part...

I ran across this a while ago, but did anyone else get REALLY tense even as the first hug happened? I thought that thing was going to tear his head off! So glad that was not the case:
Another one I found recently which is not nearly as dramatic, but pretty amazing:
