Very cool Adam...did you make some sweet royalties from Fender for the use of your name…
Don't I wish. I've wanted a Squier guitar since 1982 or 3 -- ever since a friend of mine came back from Summer vacation with one. I thought it was so cool that it was spelled the "right" way.

I lived in Japan at the time, and I now know that that's where the Squier brand began. It was a response to all the knock-off Fender guitars that were being made there. So they went into the same market as an "official" Fender brand and dealt with the problem.
I always thought it was named for Billy Squier, but I recently found out it has nothing to do with him. Just a coincidence he was popular at around the same time Fender came out with the brand. The name came from an OEM string manufacturer for Fender that they acquired in the late '60s. They owned the name so they brought it back for their Japanese-made, economy-line, guitars. Incidentally, those original, Japanese-made, Squier guitars are collectible items, now.
But enough history. I've always wanted one, and so I finally got one as a photography prop. The 3/4 size is perfect for most of our portraits (kids).
