I love that first image biggrin.gif That's my kind of boudoir!

well, i'm just not feeling like this is a boudoir. the second shot i do like, however, that pose isnt the most flattering for her thigh (which its kinda looking a bit big), but i love the composition of it.

the first and last are just too brightly lit and i dont feel any type of seduction going on, and the location just doesnt fit with a boudoir.

i hope you take this as constructive and keep on trying! biggrin.gif

Hi,

ok, I can see what Tami is saying.

In agreement, the shot for me is the second one. Of the three in my opinion is displays mood, and a more seductive feel. I suppose if it were my significant other I would want to see her face too, but I do like the shot.

The first and third, sorry, but they don't work for me. (The third is an over used pose I think)

Great effort though, keep at it.

well... I have to agree with Tami on a lot of this. The first shot is cute...bright but still nice.

The second one is a good idea, but her posterior does not look flattering in the reflection. It looks sort of droopy and.... smooshed....

The third shot comes across as too forward for me. Boudoir is really a lot about what you DONT show. I would have taken that shot from the other side.... looking down her nose with chest slightly less focused and legs in the bkgrd.

I hope this didn't come across to harsh... sad.gif

Hi Melissa,
The fact that the woman is having fun in the first image makes it a sexy shot, regardless of the setting. But I have to agree with the others on shots 2 & 3. The composition of #2 is very cool, but the reflection is not flattering. I would ask the client to come back for a second shoot. Just tell her that you'd like to extend the session to get some more images for her, at no additional cost. Then concentrate on lighting that creates more of an intimate mood, as in #2.

boodwah. I really like these, except for the rear end in the second one being squished. I do think they are more portraits in underwear more than boodwah, though.

#2 is the best, it's moodier, but I don't like the squishy bum reflection.

Thank you all for your input...I had no idea there were any "rules" to taking these types of photos! I actually used alot of ideas from what I know MY husband likes on me (and what hers likes on her) and went with that....

As far as the 3rd on that is overused...good to know, I had never seen it before.
I also didnt realize that they couldnt be brightly lit...I actually should say, I dont agree with them not being able to be brightly lit. I have seen alot of them with this type of exposure and love it!

BUT, I DO appreaciate everyones imput!! tongue.gif

Here are a few more....

melissa, typically boudoirs are shot in bedroom type settings, and they usually have a bit more of a mood to them. i guess i didnt mean 'brightly lit' as you read it, i meant more that the whole ambiance of the scene just didnt do it for me.

to me, boudoirs are much more difficult to nail than regular portrait sessions. practice makes perfect.

I can't see any of them. Photobucket says they've been moved or deleted. Sad.

I agree that brightly lit is fine too. But I do like the second set you posted much better. Much more flattering to the subject.

I disagree with everyone! Mwahahaha! Hows that for a wrench in the whole plan?

First one is not my thing, but I could see how someone things having fun/laughter could be sexy.

Second one: Most people will not notice the squishy bum. If its an issue, go in and add some extra blur. I love body parts shots and I think that angle and the mirror is awesome.

Third one: I don't care what anyone says, I think thats a fab shot because its reminiscence of Betty Paige.

2nd set...

I wish she wasn't facing the camera and that her face would be lit up more. Still a good shot though =o)

2nd one: I thought it would be nicer if her head were over the edge of the bed and we could see her face

3rd one: Just plain awesomeness

I think you did a great job, and although there are minor tweaks that could have been done in posing, I'm sure your client was happy - I would have been!
