Hey Guys,
So I just got my sample Linear album from Forbeyon in the mail today. SWEEEETTT. I love getting stuff. I took a bunch of pics and wanted to show you guys and tell you what I thought. I don't think I am the best to compare this to many other albums, but I can tell you my impressions.

Feel: the cover feels pretty solid. I ordered mine with their Scarlet Weave "fabric. The cover doesn't feel like fabric. I would say that the cover is more some sort of vinyl material. It doesn't feel cheap, it doesn't feel super soft either. I would have loved it to be real fabric, however I think that this way the album will hold up much better.

The pages are a great thickness. This is what I am most excited about. They are about the same as my graphi studio album. (photographic paper with "thick" pages) This gives it a great sense of quality. Also these books get thickly quickly. You can order a 15 spread book and have it look quite nice and thick, not thin and scrawny.

Construction: There is the pretty standard dip or warp in between the opening page and the first page. I have seen this in tons of books including much worse dipping in Graphi Albums. The binding seems to be well made. No huge negatives here at all.

Printing: Awesome. I ordered mine with the Pearl paper. It looks like it has sparkles in it. A definite cool options. I had Forbeyon send me a packet with all of their different paper options. I like this one a lot. However I think that their textured paper is the easiest to write on without smears. Print quality is fantastic. The colors are spot on with my monitor. They are bright, crisp, and contrasty with no color shift at all. I use a calibrated monitor which I am sure helped out a ton.

The printing is really good. I have seen some asuka books and I would say that this one rivals it.

Metal Cameo: I ordered mine with a metal cameo. The metal has to catch the right type of light or it looks dull. I am not sure if this is my wrong doing, or just the nature of the metal cover. I might go with a tradition photo cover next time.

Overall. I would not hesitate to order one of these for an engagement, signing book, baby, family, parent album. I wouldn't use them for anything other than a wedding album.

My only beef with this book is that they currently only offer them in sizes up to an 8x8 and 8x10 vertical. Maybe if we all wine a lot we can get them to up the sizes.

If you are a first time customer of Forbeyon let them know that John Crozier Referred them to you. Thanks.

p.s. I doctored the cameo to make it "pop" a bit more.

Turn around time for this was three weeks. I filled out something wrong on my order form which they contacted me to fix. That may have delayed it a couple days.

Their customer service is really good.

Holy cow, guys. I just got my Linear sample album. It's amazing. It's a perfect in-between book. Nicer than an Asuka-style coffee table book, but not as expensive as a flush-mount. Check out pics on my blog:
