70-200/2.8 IS.
If the 24-105 (which I don't own) was 2.8, it would be that... but... yeah... IS is my saving grace a lot.

Based on my current lenses in my bag Id say 70-200 2.8. Based on what I want to get, 50mm 1.2
I wonder what the answers say about us?

despite the need to be REALLY CLOSE TO SUBJECT
my choice would be a 28mm 1.4 Nikon
reason: I have almost had to do this very thing back in the days of film (I know some of you don't remember film.) I forgot a piece to my F5, the battery container. oops! I ended up shooting the wedding with my backup gear, a Nikon FM2 with a 28mm 1.4 a 50mm 1.4 and a 180mm 2.8. All manual everything. I took some of my favorite pictures of the year at that wedding.

Toss up between my 50mm 1.2 & 24mm 1.4. Thats why those lens stay on my two bodies about 80% of the wedding day.

35mm 1.4 on full frame is my new favorite,
close 2nd is my 24-70 2.8, which is equally sharp as my primes at 2.8 and it is most always set to 24mm

This topic that I started I would say is very informative not only to me but to the rest of my fellow wedding photographers out there who is now starting out or to the advanced professional on what to buy when looking for lenses that would meet their requirements in the field of wedding photography ................................................................................
...........
Also if we do a survey, I will by the end of the week, we will see which lens got the most votes..........................................
Keep it coming guys.....................................................................
Thanks for your input..............................

Canon 50mm 1.4 on my 1D mk 3. I'd want an 85mm lens on a FF body.

50mm 1.2, hands down....
I like to work with multiple cameras, and it stays on one of them all day as it is. Nevertheless, I would severely miss the 70-200...

Have used the 17-55 IS, 70-200 IS, 50/1.2, 24/1.4, 35/1.4. I think the 50/1.2 on a FF will capture the most in a wedding.

the 24-70 2.8 is a standard go to lens that will get you through the day if you need to. I have a bunch of glass that I use in various situations, but if I dont know what will be happening or what the light will be like, that lens gets locked on.

Good choice! I'm a big fan of the 35 1.4 on crop bodies (sadly can't afford to buy just rending). If I ever do go full frame that'll probably be my first purchase after the body.

Tough question since I never shoot w/ just one body...but I've got to join the 24-70 2.8 camp... (assuming this question involves the ceremony + reception...). It's not my favorite lens...but the reality is...it's the lens I use the most when shooting a wedding.
